I always thought this was the most profound example of limp wristed middle class anti capitalism at it's worse. Anything that is offered by people as "free" has been paid for already or stolen, someone has already paid for it. It's intellectually dishonest.

Not to mention really f*cking stupid.

This is brilliant. I'm going to print loads off and give them to people for Christmas.

Buy nothing day though, hmmm. I already bought breakfast, I will buy dinner and I want to have a look in HMV later on to see if I can get one of these.

This is actually a bit like my Buy Everything Day.

First things first, I had made a purchase (a bus ticket) by 7:45am - €2.10
Then, as I had to rush to the bus, I bought foods in Londis - €1.20

And what's left is a pair of glasses, The Sims 2, Clearasil, phone credit, more food and stationary. Buy everything day!

I'll just buy twice as much tomorrow...

By the way, this is the 2nd biggest shopping day of the year in the US (after the Saturday before Christmas).
The day after Thanksgiving is a madhouse for cut-price bargins and shops are usually heaving.
Anyone who "buys nothing" will probably have to pay dearer as they miss out on the bargins!

At least I'll keep spending to a minimum today. The bare necessities only, Friday dinner and a couple pints.

I'm gonna go out of my way to spend money today...

Damnit -going to end up buying beer this evening, and I have to get some food to eat at some point to.

Seriously though, I withdrew £60 on Wednesday last week, and I still have £20 of it left. That's both sad and impressive at the same time....

I haven't bought anything today - yay for monthly bus tickets! *looks smug*

What are you on about? The idea is to get people to be aware of their behaviour as consumers and to consider whether consuming takes over too much of their existences.
