Hey I started an identically-named thread over on UCD's forum to find out what happened there (once i found out that they were coming to Galway) and got a lively and animated discussion on the topic. Then as luck would have it I had to leave Galway urgently this evening though I was there up until about 6pm. I talked to members of the group who said they were planning to go ahead with the talk regerdless of our vice-presidents (grapevine chatter here) assertion that he would employ security on the theatre door to stop them. Just wondering if anyone knows how it all played out??

The booked the room under false pretenses, hence no talk.

I hearded that they didn't get the room they booked, so they took a ****ing megaphone and stood in the hallway of the Arts Millenium building, and shouted their **** there. Disrupted all the lectures there. I'd have gone spare at them for that ****.

    Oh right, they're Pro-Life.

Now it makes sense. I thought they were some boisterous new smal-time super-band targeting their publicity directly at the student demographic by being controversial and loud and stuff, yet still belting out ballads which morons will consider 'deep' and 'emotional'.

Were they aligned with any organised religion or were they actually just expressing an opinion common to the group?

Would've been a bit of fun heckling them, I could give a toss about the debate, but you'd get some rise out of them when the scraps from Campbell's Bucket O' Bits get airborne.
