Bit that gets me is that they have this product with the 360' view option and most of their guitars without it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Does it actually come with a bottle of JD and two cokes though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 112 ✭✭johnwoods

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,999 ✭✭✭68 lost souls

Don't see why you'd need glasses or coke to be honest!

In my group, if I showed up with anything but a fine single-malt scotch, they'd have me drawn and quartered.

That is so cool! Great find. :D

I want to join your group Rustar. ;) Must say though, Ireland is the place for whiskeys, not Scotland, and certainly not America.

A Metalhead with good taste, thank you very much. Jack is the Budweiser of whiskeys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,999 ✭✭✭68 lost souls

Jack is the old reliable, almost everyone will like it. Then there are your other whiskys which vary from person to person in preferance.

I'm a musician who won't drink anything stronger than wine and loses all coordination after as little as 2 beers and would never drink anything before going on stage. I guess I'm not going to make it then?

That is the GREATEST thing I've ever seen!!

True there are a lot of nicer whiskeys out there(crown royal, canadian club etc) but still to say that any whiskey sucks is just unnmetal like.As for your slur of budweiser i say good day to you kind sir

It's no slur, Budweiser is to beer as a cheap Squier is to Karl's new guitar. It's criminal to even call it beer. Get something German or Polish down your neck and leave the American beers alone.

There's a lot of whiskeys I just wouldn't dignify. Teachers, Paddys, JD... I guess I'm just a snob when it comes to alcohol.

No, I think he was refering to the fact that I said Jack Daniels was the Budweiser of whiskeys. As for German and Polish beers... Naw, the Belgians leave them both in the dust for their fine brews.

I thought it was because you were using Budweiser as an excuse of a poor drink. Belgian is good indeed but I'm very much into my German and Polish beers. Of course Polish vodka is the best I've ever had. In fact I think I might have to get some for the hip flask I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Vodka doesn't really interest me much any more, I used to love the stuff when I was younger, but these days I just grew to love the flavour of a good whiskey. Nothing like take a sip, swirling it round in your mouth, and taking a deep breath before swallowing. Gorgeous.

But definetly there's some good Polish vodka, I remember having some very string stuff at one stage.

Polish vodka would be the only vodka I'd drink. The rest just remind me of industrial alcohol from my chemistry labs.

I haven't really developed a taste for whiskey yet. I must work on that.

I quite like Teachers. I do prefer nice Irish whiskeys though.

If you can recommend me an Irish whiskey that is of the calibre of Balvenie Doublewood, Balvenie Portwood, Lagavulin, or hell, even LaPhroaig, and I try it and it turns out you are correct, I will take a picture of myself drinking a toast to you sir, and post it.

Never heard of any of the stuff you've mentioned Rustar, but... Try Middleton. Quite possibly the finest of fine whiskeys I ever did taste.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,217 ✭✭✭Rustar

Finest of the fine in all it's finery? Well there's one to try.....:)

You're not, I hope, referring to Vintage Mexican Squiers (which I own one of). Those are some of the classiest strats ever made. :v:

    How to tell the difference?
    The Vintage headstock says:
    FENDER Stratocaster Squier Series

    and the new cheapie says:

    SQUIER By Fender

    ;)

    Glenfidditch is damn nice.

    Glenfidditch is damn nice.

And now, I'm afraid, I must put you in the category of "means well, but doesn't have a clue..."
Glenfiddich is a bar scotch. It's the most popular single malt in the world precisely because of that....it's sold in every bar in the world. Strong attack, not much taste.

If you want to try a good one, go with The Glenlivet or LaPhroaig, both of which are available in most good bars.

The Balvenies I mentioned are damn near $100 a bottle.

Ugh, in retrospect this post doesnt make any sense. I shouldn't post when i'm under the influence. :o

Funny you picked up on it, Rustar :v:

Actually, I thought your line was perfect scotch-drinking poetry...
maybe even good enough to use as a toast! :v:

....especially since $100/bottle scotch should not be wasted on mere mortals. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

Well, if you look at it that way....:p

    I like Glenfidditch. :(

Well it IS a single-malt scotch after all, and therefore a superior drink....give yourself a treat and try some of the 'top-level' ones as well. :)
