On The Beat (A Woman's Life In The Garda Síochána) by Mary T. O'Connor

I've just finished reading this book, its brilliant. I found it a very funny and informative insight into the training and attitudes of our nation's police force as told by a former Ban Garda or Banner as they are known.

If you ever wondered why the Gardaí seem so bored and disinterested this book will shed some light.

It's a short book at 205 pages but well worth buying. In one word its: unputdownable.
