Can I get emergency tax back?

    Hi,

    I started a new job a while back and have been paying emergency tax .Am I entitled to any of that emergency tax back?

    You will get it back
    when your employer sorts out your tax details the emergency tax will be in your next pay check.
    Have you given your emplyer your RSI number or P45 yet?

    Of course you are.
    Ask your HR department for more info.... if they're not forthcoming, phone your local tax office http://www.revenue.ie/cont_main.htm (re PAYE query).
    Make sure you have your PPS no handy.

    Worst case scenario you can get it back when you do your tax returns in the new year.
