    Afternoon all,

I've got a tiling job ahead of me this weekend (yippee) And I wondered what is the best tool, an Electric Wet cutter or A good non electric 'score cutter?

The job in hand is going to be all straight cuts. (I hope)

Just wondered who uses what and for what jobs?

Is it just a personal preference?

    Thanks,

    Phil

I have both. For straight cuts, the score and cut is great. The electric wet is messy and noisy, ideally done outside. That said, if you need to take a teensy bit off the side of a tile, the score and break won't do less than about 2 or 3 cm. I got the electric wet one for about 40 quid in B&Q i think - does the job fine.
The score and break is faster to be honest

I bought a fairly cheap Plasplugs electric wet cutter & swear by it to be honest.....

The score cutter is best, quicker & cleaner- no dust.
The diamond wheel wet cutters are only required where the tiles won't score cut eg marble tiles. Or very tough ceramic floor tiles.

Just personal opinion, i'm not a pro but have done alot of tiling & used both.

    Both it is then.

I brought the Plasplugs today, as had used before. And I was staring at the Score and Cut. I'd used one before, but didn't have much success. Mind you it was a cheep plasic one!!

So I think I just need to invest in both!

    Thanks for you time,

    Pip
