My college had speed dating at the start of the year.
They lost the results unfortunatly, so it was a big waste of time.

No, basicallty what happens is you talk to lots of people for about 3 minutes each, and you rate each other afterwards on looks, personality etc.
At the end, they're supposed to match everyone up.

My college also had it at the start of the year as a way for first years to get to know each other, and it was a huge success and a great night was had by all. :D

i thought i knew what speed dating was...but i didnt know about the matching everyone up according to scores.
i thought it was you choose who you like and would like to go out with and if that person has chosen the same then you get matched
the whole thing of the organisers telling you that, 'you're this level of attractiveness so you go with this the same level of attractiveness of the opposite sex' is a bit sh*t...i mean everyone has different tastes.

Well that's the idea. You rate people on level of attractiveness, and it matches you up with people who also find you attractive.

They gave us lots of free wine, which was good though.

Some of my dates have been pretty speedy.

I couldn't wait to get out of there.
