Win98SE P3 500 / 128 ram - Which AV?

    Hey guys,

    What AV would you recommend for the above machine, avg or avast?
    Want protection at a low performance cost.

    AVG or NOD32, AVG is free so the winner is.....


    AVG!

    If you want in best protection and are willing to part with €, then go with NOD32. This mostly written in machine code.

    Another good antivirus with a low resource usage is F-Prot...

    But as mentioned its hard to beat AVG free...

    I've run AVG version 6 and 7 on machines with less specs and older than yours for several years without any kind of resource or memory problems whatsoever. You should have no problem with it at all.
