What are you on about? Paddy is in his second year as President and has completed two terms as Vice-President / Education Officer. He graduated WAY back in 2002.

I'm on about the fact that you don't know you're arse from your elbow when it comes this subject.
With all due respect to his predecessors, Reilly has busted his balls to get the SU into shape. Students are cantakerous fúckers when they have something (anything) they feel they can complain about. He's put up with that and continued to work.
The vast majority of students don't realise the amount of behind-the-scenes work that actually goes on in the college.
If you know of someone who can do as good or as better a job as Reilly, get together a few signatures and nominate that person for the SU Pres elections after christmas. Then run a campaign, encourage students to exercise their voting power (regardless of their opinion or favoured candidate) and I'll shake your hand.
A very small portion of the student population turns out to vote in most college elections. With the Dáil going out of it's way holding major votes on Friday's to negate most of the radical student vote (because you've to be at home to vote) I'm surprised that there is a lack of interest in it.
If you didn't vote, you can't bítch. If you don't have an informed opinion, you don't have an opinion.

And as for "WAY back in 2002" - wtf?

I've never actually met someone who likes Paddy Reilly. The SU in Galway is a jokeshop, though I'm willing to believe Paddy is working to change this.

    I like Paddy.

And the SU actually does its job well. It's not their fault if the current wave of students are such a worthless bunch of apathetic whingebags. But of course, nobody will realise this until it's all gone. Even then you'll probably all be whining "Why don't we have a student union? We demand one! It's a complete disgrace we have no representation! Waah! Waah!"

To which the answer will be "Shut up, you little bastards, and pay those damn fees!"
