Sky+ Recording Failure

I got Sky+ in a few weeks ago and I have had a few failures when I try to record things (especially using the Series Link) - is this something that you just learn to live with - seem to be a pattern to it - i.e. Larry Sanders on TV3 fails every week. Anybody have similar experiences?

Since the epg update from hell I went from occasional failure to being surprised if it works. Perhaps they'll fix it or perhaps I will smash it off the wall soon.

Mines failed once in a year - last Saturday recording the England All Blacks game.

mine is a brick, youd be lucky to see instant rewind work at all

No real issues with series link, but trying to watch instant rewind or anything I have actually recorded on it - forget it!!! The thing jumps and pauses for ages then resets to the start.

Now I try to do run the clean up every week - sucks for any shows I actually wanted to keep.

Anyone got any fixes or ideas?

If you do a planner rebuild rather than a full reset you shouldn't lose any recorded programs and it fixes the glitches for a while.

im thinking of getting rid of my current box as its ancient and getting the PVR3 version, then just do a callback to reactivate the card in it.

Have been doing that, but when it gets really bad I have no choice...
