    Hi guys,

something i meant to ask before but forgot. It was mentioned on UFC 65 that "auditions" will be taking place in London for the third installment in the "The Ultimate Fighter" series. Is there anyone in Ireland that would be of the level to have a go at this? Perhaps some of the guys that are competing at Christmas Brawl?

There is nobody in Ireland at UFC level yet. It's not a knock on Irish fighters, but there is just not that level of competition and training here yet. Other countries are years ahead in training.

Also, the UK has some up and coming fighters, but I still don't are at the right level just yet - Proof of that is cage rage where some of their best fighters have been dismantled by the likes of Curtis Stout who hasn't even been that much of an impact on UFC himself.

would you have to be a professional, doing fighting for a living with major sponsorship to compete in something of that level?

reason I ask, for the level of training and fitness, a competitor would need to be training full time? ????

Not many people get a chance to train full time. Alot of the fighters on previous TUF shows worked full time and trained. I'd say you'd just want to be willing to put alot of effort into training and doing as much as you can.

last time I got in the ring 4 years ago, I was on the road running at 6am and tons of push ups and abs each morning before work. and trained 6 days a week kickboxing nights and saturdays.

and was running a biz with staff and tons of problems in their at same time.

did I win ..no!!! someone suggested that maybe for a little cash I would consider taking a fall (yes that is serious and true) and was also over matched with a dirty figther. so F em I though.... and I got disqualified in round 2. I got a little dirtier!!! no promoter was going to have a nice little earner and me getting my ass whipped.

however...good thing was I so was fit and conditioned from my 3 months of decicated training, I did not even break a sweat.

takes alot of time...work and training and time for nothing else.
