I have quite a Music Library on my computer (approx 140gigs) I have been building up this music Library for over 12 years now on my computers, I have had numerous computers and harddrives over these years and now when I try to play some of the mp3 files I get a window directing me to microsoft to download a license and when I do sometime it downloads them and the music file plays (I use MusicMatch but found the problem exsists on Windows Media Player and Audiostation 2004) other times it directs me to another window that states "The license cannot be downloaded because the license has already been downloaded 10 times." Now my question is Does anyone know of a way to get these files to play again or as per microsoft I must delete them which I really don't want to do. Unfortunately on a lot of them I don't have the original media I copied them from so many years ago... I can sure use some help in this one.. Thanks:mad:

You really shouldnt have enabled copy protection when ripping them off the CDs, copy protecting your own music is just plain silly.

I didn't realise it was possible to have copy protected MP3 though... Try playing them in winamp or something other than WMP. Musicmatch is utter crap aswell, avoid it like the plague.

Not sure of the answer of this though I have seen the problem discussed before over at winamp.com.

Agrees on musicmatch and I only use wmp for dvd's - but yeah - you'll find the answer for this over at winamp anyway if thats any help....

    :)

At worst case try burning them to cd and re-ripping them.
