Bus Éireann to be charged over Navan crash

Gardaí have confirmed that charges are to be brought against Bus Éireann as a result of the fatal bus crash which claimed the lives of five school girls in Co Meath earlier this year.

A spokesperson said that the Director of Public Prosecutions has instructed the Garda Síochana to bring summary charges against the owners of the bus.

These charges will be brought at a District Court.

The possibility of more serious charges in still under consideration by the DPP.

The DDP has also instructed that no prosecution should be taken against the bus driver.

At least the driver gets to clear his mind.
Now hopefully the true extent of this will spread across the whole group of companies and improve how defects are fixed.
