Wireless net for file transfers?

Bit of a thick question, but any idea how I can quickly transfer large (c.350mb) files between two laptops in the same house?

They both have wireless cards, and are connected to the net through a Linksys wireless router!

I really have only the most basic clue about networking, could just about set up the router!

    Thanks

They should both see each other..
    What OS are you using?

    Presuming Windows:
Share a folder (With file(s) you want to transfer)
    Look in "My Network Places"
Copy + Paste to another folder on the other machine..

The quickest way to transfer files between two laptops in the same house most probably would be to write a CD on one laptop and run to the other laptop :)

Also both of your computers need to be in the same "Workgroup" (right-click on "My Computer"->Properties->Computer name). If both PCs are in the same workgroup (MS_HOME by default), then they should/may see each other's shared folders.

No they don't. It just makes it easier..They can still communicate, and if you want to browse/see them then just go up a level in My Network Places -> Microsoft Windows Network

Burn to CDR and read on other laptop is the fastest.
Alternatively a USB flash drive (one of the 20MB/s ones).
    or a crossover cable.

Yes, again Karoma is right. btw, Another way to connect two laptops with WiFi is to set up "ad-hoc" network.

But, in this case unnecessary as a router is present (Unless both cards are .a or .g and the router .b.. )

UCD Guy: Did you get it sorted? If you need a tutorial, google should provide. If in doubt: post your OS in a reply..
