Well in Irish Rail's case it doesn't exist. No time table exists beyond December 10th. This is bloody ridiculous. Both my partner and I have family travelling into Ireland and we cannot give them any idea if there are suitable train services to Wexford/Kilkenny.

Under EU regulations all rail operators must change their annual timetables on Dec11. IE used to change in September and sometimes May as it suited our summer/winter travel patterns but stupid EU declerations now rule.

The new timetable was available through the on-line journey planner but it appears to be missing again, probably some errors to be fixed. Although they really should have the new printed timetables published by now as it is less than a month away.

Not as bad as Bus Eireann whose annual timetable that changes in May has for the last few years not appeared until June/July leaving a big ? as to what summer services are running and the dates they run from.

I am pretty sure the Dublin-Wexford/Rosslare timetable is not changing much from this year and if it does it will only be a few minutes difference. The current one is good enough to go by. Although the bus service is far more frequent, cheaper, argueably more comfortable and in most cases faster.

Dublin-Kilkenny/Waterford may change a little as the Dublin-Cork timetable is being changed significantly. But again the service pattern on the Waterford line is not changing so the current times are good enough as a guide even if there might be a small change in the times.

Thats pretty much what I've found in my experience too, a few minutes here or there.

    not quite-last year
afternoon from Wexford (i know it is other direction) changed by one hour
evening departure from wexford changed by half an hour (later)
    also
departure from Connolly is now 7.30 am- it was after 8.
It is not so much when the timetable changes- it is the notice given.

That's pretty much why alright. Should be back online soon enough though so I'm told.

Its been back since lunchtime, the first time round a huge heap of trains where missing either they forgot, screwed up or spotted that we noticed that they have culled some very useful trains. Thankfully the 5.30am Cork Dublin is still there

And yes the crap 3 weeks notice is not on, the folks in the UK get freaked out if its less than 12 weeks notice. You will be lucky to see a printed copy before December despite the fact IE issued the timetable to Thomas Cook some weeks ago for there European timetable

from what i can see there is 6 trains a day from gorey/arklow to dub but only 5 back how does this work out with carriages etc? I assume one goes somewhere else from connolly and magically gets back to either Gorey or rosslare to run the train the next day?

There is an empty train from Connolly to Gorey early in the morning to form the 0645 Gorey - Dundalk.
