    Hey all,
I want to wire up a new phone point to my existing phone line. The second phone socket is installed and everything, i'm just wondering how is it connected to the original Eircom socket as it looks different than the other phone sockets I installed myself. Anyone have any ideas or pics?

    Thanks in advance.

its very easy you only need two cables,
get some phone cable it will have 6 core cables as mentioned above you will only need 2, the other 4 are spare.
take the cover off the existing phone connection
Have your new phone ready to go and your new phone socket
There are usually 4 connections on a phone socket, and usually the inside pair work.

Take the cover off your new phone socket and plug your new phone into it,
cut a small bit of cable and strip it down,
using trial and error (starting with the insude pairs) find the working pair by looking for a dial tone on your new phone.
When you find it make a note of the colours and then go about cabling it in, its easier to find the correct cables at the source.
    Phone cables are harmless.
Then cable the new line in and connect up.
If your new phone line is to be used for internet connections, try to keep the cable straight and kink free, use a staple gun if you can get one
