Problems with "other channels"

I had quite a few channels stored in the "other channels" of the digibox but when I tried to access them tonight I just got a message displayed describing how to store other channels.

Anyone else with the same problem or is it just my sky digibox playing up

Edit: Just after adding all the channels again and all appear to be working fine. Must be the old box playing up. If it is it is the first bit of bother I've had but then again its only installed about 16 months

It's a common problem with digiboxes, some more so than others. Channels seem to disappear at random, especially if there are more than 20 or so channels stored.

Not sure if the flaw is accidental or deliberate :)

In some cases (old Pace boxes for sure) if you store more than 40, it will wipe them at some point.

New pace boxes (the little silver ones) will wipe your "Other Channels" as soon as you use any interactive services if you have more than 3 channels saved.

    Thanks for the replies.

The box is a Pace make - DV3 and I would have had about 15 or 16 channels stored. As stated above I got them all stored again and so far so good

    Hi,

First post so bear with me !!!
I've been reading the D/Spy site for the last couple of months and saw
    'boards' as a link.
Thanks to one and all for the various threads...good source of local info'
I have a new PACE box (3 month old family pack sub) and it's always losing 'other channels'. I've a Grundig upstairs (FTA- 2 yrs) and it NEVER
lets me down. Seems to be some truth to having 3 or less channels
in order to keep them stored...as soon as I use even the text feature
    it loses 'other channels !!!.

    Rgds,

    Good man, welcome along.

Its very hit and miss. Some boxes are more prone to it than others, especially those since the recent software upgrade.
