what are you watching it on when it freezes, resulting in you having to watch it on cable. are you in Waterford, Dublin or Galway?

Press help and post what no.4 and no.5 are reading.(when frozen)
If you look at no.2 you'll see mtv is on 315mhz, check other stations and try to find a station with a common mux. ie mtv dance is also on 315mhz.
If MTV freezes go to another station common to that freq and see if it's also freezing.
    Post your results.

MTV regularly freezes on digital, other channels do sometimes as well but it's the worst affected.
Changing the channel and then going back usually fixes it.

I very regulary and particularly at weekends have channels completely blocked. Only a power off/on will fix it and then even it might take a couple of powercycles.

I also notice more picture disruption on the mucis channels. they seem to be encoded at a much lower bitrate.

This always happened with me with ntl, which is one of the factors which propmpted me to sign up to switch to sky.

At least with this problem it is easy to resolve without getting off the sofa! Another common problem I have with both of my "Pace" boxes is the "You are not subscribed to this channel .. ring NTL" error. You can only fix that one by getting up, walking to the box .. removing the card .. putting it back in again and sitting back down. All a pain when you've just settled down and are all cosy and in lazy mode.

Might point out though, at least I can get up and fix that problem. What if you were disabled? And couldn't!?

With ntl till the end of the month, getting sky installed in tow rooms. I'm switching to magnet for the cheap broadband and phone package and then for an extra €10 I get t.v in one room. Whilst i'll have magnet in one room, I would really be lookin at sky as my t.v provider, and magnet as my broadband/phone provider.

I have this problem on Living TV quite regularly, usually at crucial moments during CSI, I'm not sure if it happens on MTV as I don't watch it too often. The only way I can resolve it is to power the box off and on again.
