    Hi,

We are planning on heading over to Thailand - Pattaya on the 27 December for a few ngiht, New Years etc and i have been looking for some budget airfares without much success.

Accomadation is taken care of but if someone knows of any luxiorious hotel at rock bottom prices please let me know. And if anyone knows a site with some cheap air flights please let me know,

    Cheers,

Not sure how easy it will be at this stage to get very cheap flights. www.clubtravel.ie has a search engine for flights and should show you best option.
Then go to that site direct for best price usually

We went last year and one airline that no operators usually price is emirates because they don;t fly from Dublin. We booked the flight on the internet from london to bangkok and then booked a ryanair flight from dublin to london.

You will have to connect through dubai though.

Another brilliant site for finding best price is http://www.itasoftware.com/

Click on "Looking for airfairs" then login in as guest

Then type in your flight requirements and it will give you rought price, stopover details etc.

You cannot book here but you will know which airline is the cheapest so go to them direct and book.

If you put exact dates here I can have a look.

just to warn you in case your going with family and kids - pattaya (like much of urban thailand) is basically one big brothel. you are constantly going to be screamed at and hasseled by prozies offering sucky sucky long time when walking down the street, even if you have young kids with you.

    good flight websites are:

www.thailandflights.com (also has links for internal flights in thailand0
trailfinders came up with best flight deal when i was looking.
    also eva air
    ebookers
check out aertel for ongoing offers.

i spent time in bangkok, chiang mai, phuket, phi phi, koh samui.
avoided pattaya as a lot of people warned me off it. phuket is also quite sleazy.

depends on what you are looking for in a holiday. one of the highlights of my trip was a two day jungle trek in chiang mai!

Much of urban Thailand isn't too in your face. Pattaya and Phuket are probably the worse for it but its not a problem.
