Just wondering, I got my Sky dish installed on that fateful day, the 1st of September 2000.

What type of LNB did dishes of that era come with? I assume it is not a quad, but can I hang two digiboxes off it?

The Tom Dunne?????? The one from the Lord of the Rings ????? ;)

I would doubt very very much if it is a quad, so no, you will not be able to hang 2 of it. You can pick up a quad ffairly cheaply from some of the suppliers listed here:

Back in 2000, the vast majority of dishes I installed were Grundig single LNB's (a few Cambridge also).

    Thanks for that.

Is it a big deal to fit a quad to my existing dish?

Usually not. Sometimes the weight/design of the Quad can be detrimental to incoming signal, and dish would need realignment.

If you want to DIY, you could stick in the quad, reconnect cable to main digibox, and if signals are still ok, all's good. If signal drops significantly, then just put the single LNB back, and get an installer out to do the alignment (unless you're competent at realignment).
