where is the best place to buy would you say? i know of oddbins, isnt there a wine discount supermarket somewhere in dublin, near red cow roundabout(think 12 bottles min purchase?) would it be worth my while traveling up to nerwey(sp?) to buy? any help grateful!

Get you and a mate to put €120 each towards a ferry ticket to Cherbourg, includes vehicle and cabins.

Fill an estate car with wine at €2.50 a bottle (€10 in Ireland), beer at 30c a bottle (€1+ in Ireland) and bottles of spirits for €5 to €10. the only downside is it takes 3 days to do a full trip, and you have a load of drink in your house that you then have to not drink at once.

One trip and you'll have enough drink for 6 months / a wedding / a really heavy christmas!

    Cheers.

I've bought from a website called booze.ie (http://www.booze.ie).They deliver for free for orders over 50 euro and are quite cheap generally. Wolf Blass Yellow label is 11.99 per bottle as opposed to 12.99 in supermarkets. Hope this helps.

Just had a look at the price list for The Big Wine Warehouse and tbh the discounts aren't that great considering you have to buy 12 at a time.

I've passed by the place a gazillion times and always meant to go in, I don't think I'll bother now.

For the old reliables, the Centra on Griffeen avenue in Lucan has Lindeman's Bins 45, 50 and 65 for €7.49 a bottle. Consistently good, easy drinking wine at a price that takes some beating IMO.
