Top runner's coach arrested on suspicion of rape

    The Guardian

The coach of Emily Pidgeon, the teenaged middle-distance runner who is rated as one of Britain's gold medal hopes for the 2012 London Olympics, has been arrested in connection with a rape allegation.
David Farrow has been remanded on bail until next month. "A 48-year-old man was arrested in October on suspicion of rape," Gloucestershire police confirmed yesterday.

Farrow, who denies the allegation, has been asked by UK Athletics not to coach while the case is being investigated but he has continued to work closely with the 16-year-old Pidgeon. Her parents have pledged their support for Farrow. It is understood Pidgeon is not the source of the complaint. The Cheltenham runner won the European junior 5,000 metres title in July, a performance that earned her the prestigious British Athletics' Writers Association junior athlete of the year award last month. She has been tipped as a potential successor to Paula Radcliffe, an accolade supported by the world marathon record holder herself.
Farrow, who runs The Personal Training Centre in the French city of Montpellier, coaches a number of promising teenagers, including Richard Davenport, Britain's top-ranked 400m hurdler.

And after you went to all that effort as well, cutting and pasting. We don't deserve your hard work or engaging discussion.

Why don't you try offering some sort of comment on the article if you think this is something worth discussing.

If it's sums you want, there's a Mathematics board.

How do you engage people in conversation in real life? Just walk up and say "Boring gits"?

Maybe some of us know that you do not discuss a case which is sub judice on a public forum.
