hi, im having problems with my external HD and wonderin if anyone here can help me?,
This mesage comes up in the USB where my Hd is connected in computer management:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

there is a yellow exclamation mark beside it. I was told by 'paul' from iomega that i had to format the HD which would delete all my data. I do NOt want it to come to that, If any of you boardsies can help me, it would be much appreciated

    hey,

can you access the drive at all?,
is there error message flashing up from the task bar?,
have you got other USB devices currently plugged into your pc?
does the drive need to be externally powered or not?

What OS are you running? winXP? win98? etc

Sounds like you don't have the drivers installed. Thats what happens on my pc when I get that symbol.

DON'T format your drive till you've checked it out on a mates pc. Just cause it doesn't work on your pc doesn't mean it broken. Do you know anyone who has a pc that you can try the drive on?

Obviously the drive was woking at some stage to get the data on it. Have you installed/uninstalled something recently? Have you tried the disc that came with the drive though if you're running XP you shouldn't need it.
