Any particular reason it has to be a "Spanish Guitar" ?

I assume by Spanish guitar you mean a steel-string or gut-string acoustic. Although 'Spanish guitar' also describes the classical music of Albeniz and Segovia. :)

Are you talking a classical guitar or a folk acoustic?

Well the guitars that rodrego y gabriella play. Is that just a normal acustic guitar with different strings? Well he always talks about how he would love to be able to play spanish guitar, i just presumed that was the name of a guitar!! Ahhhh, confusion!! Thanks for the replies!

Went to their site and it looks like they're playing some very nice electric-acoustic classical guitars with cutaways.

The cheapest electric one with a cutaway that I could find at
    Musicians Friend
is like $700 USD. Not sure how much that is in Euros.
How much do you like this guy? :)

Edit: if he's just looking for a regular acoustic steel-string with electronics, you can find those much cheaper.

Edit2: whoops, I was looking in the wrong place.....electric/classical/cutaway can be had starting at $250 Here

Rod and Gabs guitars are custom made Nylon string acoustics made by Frank Tate in Dublin city and cost about €2500 :D Was talking to them before about them. They're reinforced on the inside to withstand the thumping they get throughout songs (yup I'm a big fan and am seeing them 2moro night and Thurs night)

MusicMaker in town have some lower priced nylon string guitars.

    They are something like this

You will know them by the tuners at the top of the guitar. Good luck anyway

Wow...just found a Euro converter, and that guitar at E499 is 584.88 here. I always thought it was the other way around.

How do you make that euro symbol?

You'd have to change your keyboard to a European type in windows keyboard settings

I guess that's because Georgie likes to do *everything* backwards and upside down. :)

I'd like to get some info on spanish guitars as well as I want to start playing some solo pieces like cavatina etc ....anyone know what are the good reputable brands ? I've come across Alvarez but I think they're like vintage super expensive ones.
My advice is if your fella's just starting out just get a standard nylon-string 'spanish' guitar (AKA Classical ). not one with a pickup.
Stay away from the €99 ones as they just sound like crap. spend as much as you can afford if he's serious about learning(around €250 min).and def buy a tuner and a 'how to' starter DVD or video. good luck !

Good luck with Cavatina. I've been trying to play that song for two years :(

Lol hate it when that happens. Some little kid half your age makes your guitar playing look like ****
