onboard sound drivers?

    im after putting a fresh install of xp on me comp and the onboard sound is not been reconised! is there any way to fix this problem? cant find out the type of mainboard to look for drivers.... im stumped any help would be sound!

    If it's a brand name PC then look up their web site.

    There are some utilities to look the PCI bus - someone may have a link

    How old and where did you get it ?

    Download and install SANDRA lite. It will give you all the details about all your components. Read the manual!!!

    go into the bios (or whatever one the del key gets you on start up) and in the settings change the option for "Enable onboard audio"..

    maybe...

    Yo El Butcherino, use a program called Belarc advisor which can tell you exactly what motherboard you have enabling you to figure out what your onBoard sound is (enabling you to be able to download the appropriate driver!)
