    THE SUMMER ENDED

The crisp brown leaves float down softly as if the wind caresses them.
Cold tendrils of frosty air shoots out of everyone’s mouths as they breathe, while their cosy woolly hats and scarves are covering their faces.
The cold frosty windows are doorways to cosy warm sitting rooms, while the kids are playing by the fireside, having discarded their thick heavy coats in the hallway.
The frozen grass crunches underneath children’s heavy boots, as the kids search in vain to see if they can pick the last flower, but deep down they know the flowers have recoiled into the cold hard ground to get out of the harsh winter winds.
At night the first snowflake falls, glistening in the street lamp light, like cool clear ice.
The children, eager to get to the snow, try to sneak out, but however wily the children are, their parents always catch them and sternly order these excited kids back to bed.
When the last of the snow had fallen it was a bright morning.
Parents waded through the blinding snow to get to their cars so they could try to go to work, the spluttering cars barely start, the noise wakes everyone up as the distinct noise travelled with ease through the clear frosty air
