yes folks... Chris Evans is back on our screens tonight, bringing his tried and tested TFI Friday format to a Sunday night.
On at 10:30pm tonight on ITV (UTV), the first episode has Billie Piper as his guest (!) and they search for the best tribute band in the UK, he reviews gadgets and gizmos, and he's giving away a classic car in a game called "Laid-Up", where you have to be injured to be a contastant.
Expect Danny Baker, Gazza and Jimmy 5 bellys to be in there somewhere...

    Will anyone be watching this?
Gotta say, I did love TFI Friday, but it had its time.

I may just watch a bit of it to see what it's like, since it's well after watershed! :)

That said, I don't think it'll be any good, especially on ITV!

    Oh F*ck It's Sunday...I know that feeling :v:
If I'm awake enough to watch I will....always liked Evans as a TV presenter (hated him as a DJ)

Wasn't the TFI in TFI Friday supposed to be "Thank Four It's" when it first started out?

Not honestly sure...I always saw it as f*ck...and that in turn was robbed from the US bar chain, TGI Fridays (God in this case)

Never really liked chris evans at all. For some reason the guy just seems to annoy me. Maybe his voice.

Yes, this is correct, as it was on Channel 4.

Can't say I have ever been a huge fan,as a presenter he was always a bit desperate and needy. To me his radio/TV show crew interaction came across as laughing with you now...but laughing at you later in the pub.

A bit cringing when his ex was there, and his side kick, jesus:rolleyes: .The props like the spinning wheel I think they must of got a job lot from Murphys micro quiz.Interviewing the fella who was surposed to be in beijing:rolleyes: .The gadgets were fun,the mini hoovers:) .

I laughed at him interviewing the woman who broke her arm in a zillion places and Chris trying to get a good camera angle of her scars, and pulled her arm up and her screaming CHRIS my arm!!!!:D Thought the bloke who broke ankle was going to cry:D

Will give it another chance next week and see what happens.

Yeah, I'd go along with this.

Potential has been shown. A lot of jittery stuff though - Evans looked a little uncomfortable at times. Also, they need to make the set a little smaller/bring the audience a little closer - it all feels way too detached. Small changes like this can often change the dynamic of a show entirely.

TFI worked in part because of the non-standard set, the audience being right beside Chriss and the guests, a bar with an Irish barman and because every week they had a non-pop band on.

OFI has a crappy set, annoying jingles, an annoying camp "assistant", only one guest per show and no bands at all.

Overall, it's rubbish and won't last long if it keeps it's present form.

I didn't see it but I like Chris Evans so I'll try to tune in next time. He was on Parkinson on Saturday....good but I've a feeling Parky doesn't like him for some reason.

Not what I hoped for...OFDM's post hits it on the head for me....the ITV format lends too much of an Ant and Dec aura to any show they produce; populist crap for the masses. I'll give it a chance again next week (unless there's something worth watching on at the same time)...

Found it to be very uncomfortable tv while his ex was on. I don't know what he was thinking, what a weird thing to do.

Nesbitt was and alright guest, I never knew he could sing and play the flute (not at the same time though...) - I think the show is aiming for the cheesey factor.

I hate his assistant. Especially the "Who's gonna bang that gong" song.

forgot about it myself last night

does my life feel less complete?
    no

Very poor. Don't think the format sits very well with the ITV Sunday night demographic either - more of a Channel 4 show IMO.

It was a toss up between Arrested development double bill and gingernuts...no prizes for guessing what I went with...

It was as bad as the first episode. Why they'd think dummping all the good bits from TFI and leaving the crap would make a good show is a mystery.
