    Hi all,

    Getting new pc next week.
    RAM is DDR2-533MHz SDRAM - 2*512
I have 1*512 of same stuff except its at 400MHz

    Will they work together?
    Any issues?

    Tks

if all ram is ddr2 then it will work together but it will all work at the speed of the lowest stick. also it will only work in single channel mode afaik

As Gline said yes, but it will work at lower speeds.

And in single mode, you need to have identical dimms to avail of dual.

tks for replies and please excuse ingorance

so they will work, thanks for that

is it better for me to leave just the two new dual channels of 512 or would it be benefical to
stick my existing 512 400MHz dual channel into remaining slot

    separate q.
Can I put in a 1gig module into the remaining slot instead?

    eg something from http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk/memory/ddr2-533.asp#kits

    tks again
