Michael Henderson on U105

Michael Henderson (better known as Hendi from Patrick Kielty Almost Live) is currently broadcasting on U105. He just read out an e-mail from northern Israel asking for Hellos to family in Fivemiletown. Hendi replied that he didn't think U105 was available in Fivemiletown.

This lead a listener to ask how 105 was available in Israel and not Fivemiletown. Hendi wasn't sure how but thought it was something to do with "satellite or broadband". He later got an e-mail from Ballycastle from someone who was listening via Freeview which Hendi helpfully thought was "something to do with satellite".

Shouldn't all presenters know exactly how their station is broadcast (FM greater Belfast, Freeview NI and internet everywhere else) in order to effectively attract new listeners?

On another point - earlier on there was an ad for British Gas. Surely this must have been a mistake as British Gas don't AFAIK market themselves to NI customers. They do own Ballylumford Power Station however.

Phoenix is the brand name for natural gas up Norn, I think, never seen an ad for British Gas on UTV.

I'm sure Hendy is just 'lancing, so unlike Mon-fri staff, I'd suggest they point him in the way of the chair, and there is the Ultra-DJ 5000, it will pick the songs for you :)
