From looking at a thread here earlier I saw a pic of a wireless controller with energizer batteries beside it.
I have also seen rechargeable packs for sale in the shops.

Well does the wireless controller come with the recharge pack or do you have to buy it seperately?

    Have to buy it separatly

They are seperate, the good quality ones can cost up to around 30. Thats for the charger itself and a couple of batteries with it. Will save you money in the long run, you can get them in argos or maplins in town.

That is ridiculous. You pay for a premium package and you have to go and buy more accessories, if you have 4 controllers thats 4 rechargable packs, and if you want the extra vga cable thats more again.
So to get everything its more like 600e without even buying a game!

So to buy a wireless controller, it will really cost 80 euro? (I found a few places with the price of the charger at 30e)
That sucks, I'll be letting my friends buy their own if they want to play multiplayer.

Well not really, you buy the wireless package knowing that the controllers need batteries. You dont neccesarily need to buy a recharger and rechargable batteries, you could always just keep putting in new batteries when the old ones die.

Anyone any info on how long the charge will last? With batteries or charge pack

Would really depend on usage. If you play 24/7 they'll go in a few days, if you only play for the odd hour a day should last you a few (~2) weeks.

IGN says the batteries last around 40 hours.
    Seems good to me.

Microsoft are advertising the batteries (in the hardware info screen of the xbox 360 dashboards in the displays in shops) as being 25 hours, and normally the real life results are a little less generous than what's advertised. I was thinking 'yea thats great, as long as you plug it in when your not using it they'll never go anywhere near dying'... but now I found out their using AAs? God that brings back memories of the gamegear. I never even considered the possibility that something as cutting edge as the xBox 360 would be using the same batteries.

So thats another hidden expense, If you don't buy the recharge pack you'll have spent that much on ****ty batteries in a few weeks anyway. As for multiplayer, well that's one wireless and three wired controllers to invest in I think.

I don't see how its a hidden expense really. When you buy something thats wireless it obviously is going to need an energy source - which are obviously going to be batteries. These days most households use rechargable batteries anyway so I dont see how this is a big deal.

Yea but it doesn't come with rechargeable batteries, which is the least you'd expect having spent that much on something these days. How many years is it since the Gameboy took AAs? That's the only thing I can think of that's comparable, sure a tv remote control will take regular batteris but that's because it can last months and months with them.

Just to confore it will be 20 for the play n charge kit in Xtra Vision.its in their mag

xtra-vision are giving it away free on some bundles too. I've ordered one for 479 and that includes the Premium pack + 1 game + the play n' charge thingy

    @Ronan

my brother has the premium pack prebooked in xtravision and fully payed for, do you know if its possible to change it to the pack you have? ( as i dont think they were any bundles when he preordered). As im going to buy tiger woods which would bring it to 475 euros ( so play and charge kit would only really cost 5 euros then).

    edit:
Looking at the xtravision magazine and they have a perfect dark premium bundle for 465, anyone know if perfect dark can be swapped for tiger woods/ call of duty?

kaisersose77 - I don't honestly know. Mine is booked at the one on the South Circular Road about 3 weeks back and it was all they had left.
I was told I would have the choice of 4 games on the day. Personally I am going for COD2 and if it isn't one of the choices I'll just wait till it comes in and try to trade.
