I'm going away for 2 weeks early next year and I need to find a cattery in the Dublin south area. Can anyone recommend one that they've actually dealt with.

    Many Thanks

I live in Bray and use one in Glenealy. Sounds a long way away, but it's only a half hour drive from where I am mostly along the N11. It's called "Moggies and Doggies", and I can give you the details if you don't think this is too far? Our cats love it and don't want to come home sometimes! Most of the cages have outdoor runs, and are big enough to take two cats in one cage (discount if you do). They have heat lamps when it's chilly, and even have the radio on in the background to make them feel at home. Highly recommended.

That sounds nice. I don't mind travelling if it means they will be happy. Send me on the contact details if you can.

It might be a good idea to make a sticky with recommended pet services.

OK, I'll PM them to you ... not sure about putting up phone numbers and the like here on a public board.

I noticed this reply from you to the above question of Cat boarding and wonder if you still use it - I need a cattery for my holidays in Nov.

Who says I'm not ? :D No seriously, just glad to recommend the place, but if it means I can't get my two in there the next time I need to because it's full, I may have to stop!

Can anyone give their opinion on this cattery based on recent experience? I want to leave my cat in good hands for 4 days. An earlier post recommended them but that was back in 2005 so really keen to hear of a more recent experience.
    Thanks.

    just reading your thread,
there is an excellent one my friend went to up in kilternan, i think it is fab approved, she said it is actually a purpose built house where all the animals can look down over the valley, mega luxurious she said,
she booked in her cats for summer, going to go up and have a look at it and will let you know

I started this thread in 2005

I actually used a place in North County Dublin called the Deutsche Cattery. I found them fantastic, very professional and Henry (my cat) was very relaxed when we got him back after a week.
