Heya I know this isn't really suited for after hours so mod's feel free to move me.

I've got a problem - have to give a presentation tomorrow on the stock exchange and looked at the details there - I need to know what somethings called the net profit/sales percentage, and the net profit/shareholders equity percentage are?!?

If anyone could help, or even give me information on where to find them i'd be very appreciative.

    Thanks

    Patzer

I actually lecture in finance and accountancy but have never heard of those terms:

    1. : The Net Profit / Sales Percentage:

I'm assuming that this is the ratio commonly referred to as the 'net profit ratio' - this is essentially the equation of how much of sales translate into profits e.g. if a company has total sales of €1 billion and makes €100 million in profit then it has a 10% net profit ratio.

    2. Net Profit / Shareholders Equity Percentage:

I think that this is the ratio commonly referred to as the 'return on capital employed' or 'ROCE' ratio. See here for a definition: http://financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Return+on+Capital+Employed+-+ROCE

    All the best!
