video card drivers - help please!

    my friend is looking for drivers for a video card for an old pc he just bought, he upgraded from win 98 to win2k and cant find drivers for his card, my question is are there universal drivers that work for all video cards on at least a basic level?

    your best bet is to firstly pull the card out and check what chipset is on it (eg: ATI, NVidia TNT2 etc).

    Then go here : www.driverguide.com (free registration required) and you'll probably get something for it - I've found drivers there for lots of old hardware I've come across :)
