I'm doing some research for someone. And what we're looking for is possible faults in genes.

One question would be. Is there a particular mare, who has produced x amount of foals. and all of them have had the same problem. Even problems like breaking the same bone in their leg etc..

Speaking of breaking legs... Did you see the Breeders cup mile when Rock came second? Did you see what happened to Landseer?... ugh....

The two that spring to mind are Zafonic and Lochsong, quite a lot of their offspring have displayed the same quirkyness as they have. Whether or not every single one of their offspring has I don't know.

Your best bet would to to look up the mares you are interested in and search through the offspring on the Racing Post site, you will be able to read comments about them and their offspring. Otherwise it might be worth looking for some breeding sites that have detailed information about mares.
