    Hi,

Living in an apartment, wired for NTl but not sky. Was thinking of getting sky but not allowed dish. So i have a balcony that faces south/east so was going to buy one of the cubsat antennas that would sit on the balcony

Has anyone used one of these in Dublin? It should be fine as Dublin is well inside the footprint, but just wanted some first hand experience before i buy one.

Stand it on a box if you can to clear any railings you have.

Have you ever used one of them Tony in Dublin, if so are the signal levels ok for sky digital....balcony has glass panels so should be fine.

No never used one but glass panels are not fine , they attenuate when dry and will block a signal when wet.

True, but where it will be placed will clear the balcony anyway so wont be an issue.

    Anyone here used one??

Dry glass is fairly transparent ar microwave frequencies but if the glass is leaded or aluminised (as it often is in tall buildings) then it will block your signal almost completly.

Personally Ive no experience of the things but a comparison of "cube" "flat" "tube" and "globe" antennas would be of interest to a lot of people I reckon
