Moving pst file from one PC to another

Hiya,

I have Outlook 2000 installed on my old PC (the PST file there is about 400MB). I recently bought a laptop and I have installed Outlook 2002 on that laptop. How do I go about moving my entire email to the laptop? I searched the HDD on my laptop after setting up Outlook and I can't seem to find a .pst file.

Cheers

I would say you have to export your pst file from Outlook 2000(File=>Import and Export). Burn it to a disk. Stick the disk in the laptop and go to File Import and export and follow the steps from there. Have you set up your mail account on the laptop yet?

Install this tool on each machine. Then backup on one pc and restore the file to the other PC.

And don't worry about it saying 2003, its compatiable with previous versions.

File-import and export-Export to file-Personal File folder (.PST)

Select the PST and move it to somewhere you can find it.
Then on your new lappie the fastest way to import the PST is

1.Go to your desktop and find Outlook icon. Right Click and a box will appear

2. Press Data Files and another box will appear
3. Now what you want to do is add so press “Add..” a box will appear just press ok, then another will appear looking for PST files. Guide it to your PST that you wish to add to Outlook.Press Open.

4. Once you do this it will ask you are you sure, press ok and next. Then Exit Outlook completely and wait 2seconds and turn it back on. Now you should have an extra Inbox .

Have a detailed doc with pics if you really want it but there the steps.
