Recieved empty box with no aftershave - seller or post thief.....

I ordered some joop aftershave from ebay a few weeks ago for about 30 euros. And I checked the parcel a while ago after I got home from work and to my delight the box was empty! :( . The padded envelope has cellotape around it so it kinda looks like someone working in a post sorting centre might just robbed the aftershave and taped it up again, but im not 100% sure of this as it could just as easily be the seller taping the end of it to be safe. I contacted the seller before copping on that there was a chance that a post worker did it, so the message i sent to him wasnt the most polite thing in the world! ;). I told him i want to be refunded immediatley or I would report him to ebay/paypal and leave negative feedback explaining what I got. It was sent by a german power seller with very good feedback through deutsche post. Which kinda backs up the post worker thief theory now that I think about it. Will I just have to forget about the money or hope the seller is decent and refunds me the money?. (ps there was no insurance mentioned in the postage costs, just 6 euros to europe)

Im afraid it sounds like "thems the breaks"
Did you ask the seller about how it was packaged?

TBH a postal worker wouldn't be bothered taping it up - they'd just hold on to it.

Unfortunately, unless you had insurance you have no come back. The post office can claim it was never in the box, the seller will claim it was. I suppose all you can do is give him feedback - package arrived empty, cause unknown.

I gave him the benefit of doubt but he wont reply to my emails so I reported him to ebay/paypal and gave him negative feedback. He could easily reply to me and try and sort it out be he hasn't. He hasn't even bothered replying to my negative feedback I gave him or other negative feedback he has got before. Just because he's a powerseller doesnt give him the right to ignore any complaints. Ebay/paypal will probably get back to me in about 6 months and tell me there is nothing they can do though ;)

See if you can check the weight of the parcel. Did it lose weight during shipping??

its a postwoman actually and I never smelled this particular aftershave before ;).

No point in weighing it tbh as it feels like air wrapped with an envelope and seller wont relpy to me anyways.

I just noticed i have a message on myebay from someone else who got an empty box off the same seller and he wanted to know did I get it sorted out as he's in the same boat as me. So looks like the seller is the thief. Havent heard anything back from ebay/paypal yet, ain't that a suprise.

You might get lucky and Paypal will force a refund of your money. I ordered an aftershave from the states that never came and like you the seller wouldn't anwser any e-mails. I filled a complaint though Paypal and they contacted me a bout a month later to inform me that I would get a refund as the seller would not respond to their request for information about the item.

Got a full refund off the seller ;)

He suddenly responded when paypal informed him of my claim. He said his internet connection was down for days. Paypal then sent me an email saying that they had ruled in my favour but that was after he sorted it out with me.
