Civ 4 is good, but download a real world huge map from here:

AoE3 is a very disappointing game imo... the civs are all the same, the home city thing is a gimmick as they are all the same also.. single player game is ok, and the graphics and maps are great, but gameplay is where it falls down.

It'll keep you going for a while, but you'll see what I mean after a while.

Well played Civ 4 last night and turned it off at 11:30 the time went by so fast. Was good i enjoy the game but i could c it taking so much of my time.

Have AOE3 on order i just hope its good over lan as thats how i will be playing the game. So if the one player game is not much good i dont mind.

Really enjoying AoE3, myself and a few friends have been playing AoC (AoE2+conquerers) for about 18months now on and off, so we expected a lot from AoE3, and I have to say I enjoy it, the civ's are very diffrent, and building a deck for your home city add's a lot to the customisation of your city, as your deck can seriously effect the outcome of the game. Got a level26 portuguese city as well as every other civ up to at least level 6, so have got a fair bit of playing done in it, and Im happy with the purchase.

As for civ4, kiss your free time good bye, dangerously addictive game.

Well AOE3 just arrived in the post this morning thank god. Will load it up tonight and go stright into a Multiplayer with my brother. His always giving out that i play the game for about 2weeks before i play him and he might not have played the game at all " which is a fair point ".

Anyways i hope the next 11hours go by fast as i want to play all ready.

Most of what you will want is on there, the forum is pretty sensable too (ie: the childish folk are by and large kept in check)

The demo didn't work for me, has anyone had any problems with the actual game?

Can someone lend me a disc to see if it works? :p (joking)
