Wireless connection dropping

Does everyone else have problems with their wireless connection dropping and instantly picking itself back up again?
I'm on my third wirelesss network (2 in other locations) and all 3 have given me the same problem. I won't really notice the connection drop, the notice above the connection icon in XP will say "wireless network blah now connected". I'm also on my 2nd wireless card and have formatted a few times since I've noticed this. It's a pain in the ass beacuse I always get put to the back of my emule queues!

    Hey

Don't know if this will help but I had the same problem, all I did was right click on the wireless connection, go to advanced and unclick the windows firewall.

Try that and see if it works

What type of router is it and what type of wireless nics are you using?

Have you tried to update the drivers for the nics and the firmware of the router?

The windows firewall is off. I use zonealarm.

I've used a D-link router and now using a Netopia one (that came with eircom BB). I used to use ****tle usb wireless card but I've been using a D-link one for a while now. I've updated the firmware on the routers. I've even formatted the PC a few times.
It only just occured to me to update my BOIS. I don't understand how it might work but I'll give it a go.

    BIOS update might help...
More likely to help: Set the power saving mode off on the Wireless NIC (i.e. Set it to CAM)

    Do you move around much?:)
