External Hard Drives : Any Advice/Suggestions?

I'm looking to get my hands on an external hard drive to hook up to my girlfriend's PowerBook. Does anyone have any advice on what to look for or, better yet, any suggestions on what model to buy?

I'm not looking to spend a huge amount so class this as a 'budget external HD'.

    Cheers in advance!

Buy the external caseing & pilage a DH from an old machine, depends on how much space is needed.

I agree. There's a shop in Finglas called "Just Media" where you can pick up a 5.25" external HDD & DVD/CD case only €29.99. There around the corner from Gleesons pub which is visable from the main road.

Here's some cheapish hard drives from marxcomputers.ie:

What does your g/f need it for? Audio/Video stuff? Then its bigger is better. Theres a nice 200Gb drive for €122 couples with the case above thats only €152 or if she doesn't need loads of space what about the 80Gb for €72? Thats only €102 for the complete package... greater starter kit.
