Maynooth Intervarsity is on the 26th of this month.

All colleges must e-mail a teamsheet to me as soon as possible, the sooner i get the team sheets the easier it'll be to organise.

    Email teams to JEROME.COUNIHAN@nuim.ie

    cheers

Any ideas on how many we can bring?

About ten should be able to squeeze another one or two more if absolutly necessary. But aim for ten.

Hey Jerome, I don't think there'll be a team going from Carlow. None of the advanced archers can make it and it'd be the first comp for the beginers so dont want to sent them off on their own.

Should free up a few spaces for you

    Whats new???:D
You seem to be organising things very well.. It should be a good competition.. Especially since you will be in the running to win it!!

Organising an intervarsity is a lot more work than i thought it would be.
Noel, feel free to have a bad day!! shot yesterday but could only shoot 30 cos there was a power cut got 263. could be a good league this year!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 419 ✭✭toxof

263? Nice:) So if you get a 520 in the competition you will be laughing

I'll have the UL team organised by Tuesday, fingers crossed. Will try to keep it around 10 ish

You'll have the GMIT list by wednesday if no one shoots themselves in the foot in the meantime...(trust me its a plausible occurance...)

And does anyone know what the deal is with the meeting after? Just need to book return times for bus etc.

You saw the state of me during DCU's. So glad I never have to organise one again.

I should have the DCU list ready by Tuesday

You're obviously not shouting loud enough.

Jerome did you get a room for the association meetion? I wouldnt say it'll be too long, maybe 30 mins, just to decide on a plan of action for the year. What we want to do and how we'll get it done. Hope to see at least one rep from every college there! oh an who else is on the committee cause I wasn't really paying that much attention at the meeting......

I think we'll have to use the hall because the SU(where all the rooms are) is locked on weekends and they wont open it.

Also, is there any colleges who don't use boards i.e. dont know about the intervarsity?

Ewan, i like the shouting idea but its hard to put credible volume into emails(possible idea for new software?) and if you scream at someone down the phone they normally hang up.

If we ask nicely we could probably use JH7 or some equally small lecture hall.

Don't know if Naoise (the UCC guy) uses boards. He probably won't come cos of the distance and lack of funding from the college but it wouldn't hurt to send him an email anyway. His email address is naoisemcsweeney AT eircom DOT net. UCD people often go a while without checking the board so it might be worth emailing them also.

Should have the DIT list on Wednesday, Thursday at the latest

Nice shooting by the way Jerome, good to see so many people shooting so well.

    Cheers.

Just checking, because i don't want anyone saying to me they didn't know it was on. Will send those emails tomorrow(today).

On more important matters-whose goin on the piss after the intervarsity??

Do N.U.I.G. use boards?? I've had acknowledgement of the existence of a competition by everyone except N.U.I.G., U.C.D., and A.I.T.(cant remember his name, sorry).
Want to get as much as i can organised before saturday so i can concentrate on shooting properly myself. Anyone have email for either UCD or AIT?

ya we do NUIG will be there just not sure who will be there yet

Conal Dolan is the guy you are looking for from AIT. He's still on the DCU archery mailing list so he should have received a mail about the Maynooth I.V. I can send you his mail address though if you want.

UCD have an email address: ucdarchery AT dublin DOT ie
    Should do the trick.

Ah, UCD knows about intervarsity. I'll try to get numbers and names tomorrow at our training.

Yeah AIT knows about the I.V I'll be there in all my begining glory!!!! It'll just be me again! :( but one of the lads might come up for the craic! Quick question. How do i get to the college from the bus stop??? Or is NUIG Coming through Athlone that might be able to pick us up???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 83 ✭✭SonicTheBadger

Which bus stop? Theres a bus stop outside the glenroyal hotel, from there walk towards the town, once you get to the main street go left, you should see the old campus in front of you, from there follow the road around to the right, at the traffic lights go left, and youll see the ca
mpus on your right, then just follow signs for sports complex. Are you getting a mainline bus or the 66? if its the 66 when you get off the bus go left down to the end of the main street, follow the road around to the right at the traffic lights go left, campus on right, then follow signs for sports complex.

Just to let you know we'll stay for a drink after the competition. (DCU team, 10 people).

Just another quick point, Saturday is also our open day so don't get intimidated if you see lots of students about. They'll all be over in the John Hume building anyway, away from us. Try not to scare them. Too much.

Congrats to Maynooth on the Competition yesterday.....

There was some good physical activities in the end too which prove we are all relly big kids!!!! Apolosies for any stray ping pong balls, frisbee's, american footballs, or basketballs.......

I'll second that. It was a well run shoot, also the quickest I can remember. Especially the afernoon. Hats off to Jerome, Cathal and the rest of the Maynooth team.
