AQ was a hand that used to get me into alot of trouble and ended more tournaments for me than I care to remember!

All love for AQ is pretty much lost and I actually hate to look down and see it these days.

Just a few situations below I'd like opinions on how you play AQ sooted or not.

Blinds in all situations are 75/150 you have an average stack with no big stacks at the table you were just moved to the table and haven't seen many hands, no reads on anyone.

UTG you make it 400 to go button re-raises to 800

UTG you make it 400 MP raises to 800 and button calls.

UTG you limp in, MP calls Button calls and SB completes flop comes 8 4 k sb checks BB checks.

folded around to you on the button you make it 450 to go SB folds BB makes it 1500.

How many chips do we have?

Majority of the table are around the 4k mark

1st 2 call or fold doesnt really matter - you are in a bad spot but being priced in.

    3rd one bet

    last one I fold

Call in situations 1 + 2, as HJ says you are priced in. In sit 3 I would take a stab at the pot, and in sit 4 I would probably push, as I would think the BB is defending against what he feels is a button steal.

This hand is really difficult to play, and I'd say you'll get lots of differing opinions on how to play it. All the below relates to tournament play only. And to be added is my extreme hatred of this hand OOP in tournaments...

IMO, example 1 is the toughest one to play IMHO, you're out of position but you've shown real strength, once you haven't been donking around raising with nothing, and neither has he, I think I'd fold here. There's a chance you're laying down the best hand, and with the odds the pot is laying a call is probably fine too, I just have a real hate of AQ and AJ OOP.

Similarly with 2. If they were suited I'd call, if not, even though you're getting nice odds, you're out of position with a vulnerable hand and so I'd fold.

    3. Assuming it's a rainbow flop and I have no flush draw, I'd just check it again.

    4. Goodness I might be a little weak tight, but I'd consider folding here too,:( this is a serious raise from the BB, it could be a Blind Protection move, if I thought it was, I'd push, but unless I had reason to think this I'd fold too, if you call here then more than likely you'll be faced with a push on any flop, and so you're hoping for an A or Q to fall.
If not what do you do, you'll have committed a large portion of your stack, and may now have to call for the rest of it... (a thing I hate to do)
