Rich Franklin v Nate Quarry is a joke the guy hasnt proven himself to deserve a title shot im 100% sure Franklin is going to destroy him in the first round. Matt Hughes v Joe Riggs might be good I like Riggs but I dont know if he is going to be good enough to take down Matt. Overall not a bad card couldnt be as bad as 55 anyway.

Hughes will destroy Riggs IMHO, though I would love to see HUghes get his come uppance, it won't be this time.
I'd like to think Quarry would surprise us, but I agree, Franklin by vicious KO.

Yea id love to see Matt get his head kicked in he is so cocky about fighting hes the main reason ive not watched season 2 of the ultimate fighter.

I watch his fight with BJ once every few days, just to see the humble look on his face after he's being humilated. You should adopt this therapy also Mark.

As far as UFC goes, I love this card. 2 belts, and Sherk is back in action - Albeit against a near invincible GSP. This will be the fight of the night - Mark my words.

I agree. GSP is the man! one of my highly anticipated fight this weekend.

I think the GSP Sherk match could be the highlight of the night. Sherk will be hungery to get back in the Octagon. GSP will want to use Sherk as an example as to why he should be the No. 1 contender.

Hughes and Riggs I'm not so enthuased about. It's a pity Karo got hurt. But it should be ok...

Franklin and Quarry... Could go either way. I don't think Quarry will go out easy though.

The rest of the card, wait and see I suppose. There's some good names in it and I've hope for it.

Can't be worse than the last one...

any ideas on this weeks lotto numbers:D

On the whole i think it was worthwhile staying well up past my bedtime. Highlights for me were:
GSP clinical in way he distmantled Sherk. Totally surprised him by taking him to the ground. Surely he'll now get title shot
Franklin, this guy is a monster. Huge strikes with a great finish. Quarry was out cold before he hit the canvas.
Announcements that Frank Mir and BJ Penn will be returning to UFC.
Announcement of Liddell vs Couture 3 at UFC 57
TUF 3 series coaches will be Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. Should be interesting.

    Lowlights:
Joe Riggs was very disappointing. Really expected him to put up a better show.
The heavyweight fight. The two guys seemed to have poor conditioning and the fighters booed throughout. Joe Rogan even got to ask Wesley Snipes how he was! Surely these two heavyweights will not fight on UFC card again.

    The hightlights for me were:

    1. Franklin V Quarry. Worth staying up late for. Man Franklin can land punches. I felt sorry for Quarry though, his nose was already broken before he got knocked out.

    2. Six million dollars mans bird..... Respect for Lee Majors

56 was a pretty good event, well coming off 55 anyway. They need another commentator that guy with joe was a disaster seemed like everything he tried to say joe was like actually no its the other way around. I couldnt have laughed harder when I saw nate hit the ground it was just so funny, yea you where ready :D

The most exciting thing for me was the new coaches for TUF3 how the hell are shamrock and tito going to get on they will need a body guard to stop ken trying to fight tito all the time its got the making of a great season. After what tito said on sherdog im amazed dana even considered putting him on it but guess money rules all in Ufc. Hopefully its going to be a build up to ken and tito rematch at the end of the year. Although after what happend to ken in his last ufc and pride matches it wouldnt really be much of a match.
