what type of bird is this?

    rescued this bird from 2 labradors a few months ago, he/she was in bits at the time - before the pictures but i managed to nurse it back to health, then i rang some bird shelter place who said they would take it - they came and said it was a chicken and that it would be happy with all the other chickens they have!
    i cant help but think there is a hen pheasant running around with chickens somewhere now as thats what i thought it was, anyway there is a link to a picture below if anyone wants to shine a light on the situation

    yeah isnt it!! you should have seen it at first though, it was in a bad way, spruced up fairly quickly though, and anytime i went out of its sight it cheerped...was funny
