I have had BT BB over the last 2 to 3 months but my speed is very poor. Normally its under 1mps around 771 kbps. I am on BB Plus and me thinks it should be much better.

I am running a cable from secondary phone socket and its about 10 feet from the phone socket would this be causing the problem.

Some suggested that I should move my modem to the primary socket and get a longer IEE lead and that will increase the speed

    Can any one advise

    Cheers

    DSL is gay.
Connect the modem to the main ph point.
Then use a long Ethernet cable from the modem to the PC.
Or get a wireless router to do this instead.

    IEEE Drive?
    What?

Well connect the router to the main phone point.
Then use the Ethernet Cable to connect to the PC.
    How simple is that?

    Yes.
Its an RJ-45 CAT 5 cable.

I have got BT BB+ in Cork City, and get d/l rates of around 1.5mbit/s, which is fairly ok I think.
U/l speed suck most of the times, though (about 60kbit/s).

If I'm not completely wrong it is meant to be 128k up...even with BB+...which is pretty poor I think.
