Gilbertini 65

    Hey fellas,

What is the difference between a Gilbertini 65 (60 Euros) and a regular bog standard 60 (20 Euros) cm dish (besides the 5 cm in diameter....)

My local friendly retailer has both and I basically would like to know if the branded model is worth the extra expenditure!?

    He also has a Triax 64 (40 E) and a Nokia 68 (50 E) a 'SatAn Kathrein 60 cm' (140 E) and a B&O Transparent (115 E).

I am aiming for Astra 2 from 52'N in southern Sweden. Any comments or observations before I go down to him to suffer his sales pitch?

    Thanks

    Dus

Where are you based, as the further you are from the centre of the footprint the bigger the dish you will need.

Based in Malmö, Captain. Judging on the footprint maps I should have no trouble hitting it with a 60/65 cm, my only problem is that the dish will be looking through a window (double glazed!) as external dishes are a no-no in the building.

That 'SatAn Kathrein' 65 cm one is supposed to boost the signal and to get the Irish telly I'd happily pay for it if it was absolutely necessary.

I could probably squeez in an 85 cm dish if I had to but as I said I am more worried about the signal getting through the window!

Jaysus, think you are right Tony. Will have to wait til I get a house with a garden to buy me a big dish. :(

Thanks for the link, I might give the John guy listed a call and see what he says!

I don't suppose I can get Sky Digi on Astra 2A or 2B?
