This may be in the wrong place...

In order to do well at any given company, you need to:

    a)know someone
b)be the kind of person that will put up with all sorts of sh1te, including doing hours of overtime for no pay and generally choosing the job over any semblance of a life you might have
    c)be unusually talented
    d) (and this is most common) be a total, irredeemable, c*nt.

    Discuss.

You're right, this is the wrong place. Moved to work.

Bitter about something at work perhaps? My experiences in the workplace have been different to what you describe.

Or, you can just show up on time every day, do a good job and put yourself forward when opportunities present themselves...
