    Lads,

I've a Berretta Ultralight that's too good to be holding down barbed wire and briars with, so I'm after a second-hand O/U for rough shooting.

Nothing fancy, but in reasonable nick at the same time. Doesn't need to be multi-choke but ejectors would be desirable.

Before I go get fleeced in a gun shop, anyone have anything worth looking at?

    How ya doing?

A friend of mine was lucky to pick up a second hand gun that was in very good condition which was in the 150 - 200 range. I think its a russian made side by side (which I find to be much more accurate than the U/O for some reason!) My first shotgun was a Khan U/O 12g, was 600 and a good shooter too. I'm sure there are second hand ones out there for 300 or so.

There is a shop in Navan called Clarks Sports Den. Super collection of second hand and old shotguns. Some as low as 80 or so euro. I have found that the guns are sometimes rusted on the outside but dont let looks put you off. If your near there I'd recommend that you go in and ask to look at them.

    Anyways...hope that helps.:D

you could try the Turkish "Huglu", very good value at around 550 for a U/O non ejector model, Trapper John in Roscommon is one of the Irish agents.
