Underfloor Elec heating

With new ext - will have a big 6m sq room as kitchen/living room.
Changing from oil to gas (prob -gas mains just outside door).

Was possibly thinking of putting electric heating under this floor instead of heating this room with 2 rads and these 2 rads would be on a far wall away from the kitchen/island area.
Concrete floor in old and new ext.
It will be 50% wood % 50% tiles - overall area to heat approx 22m sq.

has anyone ever done this -- its not just to keep the floor warm like the Devi mats for showers but to actually heat the room.

better have 1or 2 thermo control for the area ?
    Need 1 rad also ?

    pros & cons please.
    Thx

Our whole house has Electric underfloor heating, what you will need to do is insure adequate insulation under the concrete to prevent heat loss downwards.
Devi make electric cables for this purpose too.
2.3 kw and 2.7 kw is what we have + a backup for each.
making a total of 4 cables, 2 in use and 2 spares.
you are basically making the whole floor a giant storage heater.
