per item yes...but on different stuff no...

think about it...week 1 sale on square tiles...week 2 sale on red square tiles...week 3 sale on red triangular tiles....

its something like, the price has to be fixed at the original for the 4 weeks prior to sale price being announced. id imagine there's a limit as to how long a 'sale' can last, after all would that not just make it 'normal' rrp?

haha....I love how these idiots "have just aquired the liquidation stock of a bankrupt spanish tile factory" every few months....so much so that I'm surprised there are any tile factories left on the Iberian peninsula.
    I mean make a f*cking different advert or something...consumer's aren't that gullible...

They should just switch to the ol' "Closing Down Sale" trick (See: Tyler Shoes (Think that's the name..) ..

Ah, but I think they are.

The point about buying tiles is that they are the classic irregular purchase. You typically only go look for these maybe once every 5 years. When you are looking for tiles you tend to do a big search. When you are in such a 'purchase mode' you naturally hone in on any ad selling tiles, when you are not, most people will simply filter the ad straight out.

It is only the brighter cynic (such as are found here on boards.ie) that picks out the ad and notices that there is nothing special about them. The rest of the pleb population probably doesn't even notice.

All I'll say on this topic is to look over at The Jean Scene. I worked there for a few months a couple of years ago and it was only then that I noticed that they constantly have sales signs in the windows.

Reminds me of a furniture place here in Kilkenny, they used to have this big massive SALE!!11!eleven banner hanging off the front wall of the place all year round, I believe they eventually did get slapped for it.

Yeah I know what you mean about the place... last time I was looking at a couple of different tiles, and I asked the Eastern Europeans working there for a sample, and they were like, the sale ends on Sunday, so if you want them you have to buy them by then. I of course laughed, and they laughed too....

Yep, there is always a sale on in the place. Although about a year ago I went in 'after' the sale had ended and the prices were the same...

Perhaps they could tell us when there isn't a sale on instead? :D

RADIO: "Attention all Tile enthusiasts!!! No sale on this week."
    TILE ENTHUSIAST: "Err, that's nice"

    (true story)
